Dual Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity

Equipped with 2 Gigabit LAN ports (10/100/1000Mbps), the Vigor 166 allows simultaneous connection of two devices without disconnecting to check line status. This dual-port configuration makes it an ideal partner for DrayTek dual-WAN routers or any third-party firewall with Ethernet WAN capability, with full DSL line status reporting on compatible DrayTek Vigor routers.

Universal ISP Compatibility

Pre-configured to work with most UK ISPs straight out of the box, the Vigor 166 eliminates complex setup procedures. The modem is BT Infinity Option 1 & 2 compatible and compliant with Openreach SIN 527 & SIN 498 standards. It features automatic detection of G.Fast and VDSL line modes, with pre-configured VLAN tag 101 for OpenReach networks. Simply enter your ISP username and password on your router to establish connection.

Comprehensive DSL Standard Support

The Vigor 166 supports all major DSL standards including ITU-T G.9700/G.9701 G.Fast (106MHz profile), ITU-T G.993.2 VDSL2 with profiles 8a through 35b, and backward compatibility with ADSL2+ for maximum sync rates up to 20Mbps. Advanced features include G.INP, Vectoring, US0 support, and loop diagnostic mode for professional troubleshooting.

Flexible Operation Modes

Operating in two distinct modes, the Vigor 166 functions as either a fully bridged DSL to Ethernet modem or as a mini router with NAT DMZ host capability. Router mode includes comprehensive firewall features with SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection), DoS/DDoS protection, ALG support for SIP/RTSP/FTP/H.323, and VPN pass-through for PPTP, L2TP, and IPsec protocols.

IPTV and Streaming Service Compatible

Full compatibility with IPTV services, Video on Demand, YouView, and Sky Q ensures seamless entertainment streaming. The modem supports multi-PVC/VLAN virtual WAN interfaces specifically for management and IPTV services, with IGMP proxy functionality and maximum MTU of 1508 bytes.

IPv6 Ready with Advanced Management

Native IPv6 support includes PPP, DHCPv6, Static IPv6, TSPC, AICCU, 6rd, and 6in4 static tunnel configurations. Management options include web-based interface (HTTP/HTTPS), CLI via web console/Telnet/SSH, SNMP v2 & v3, TR-069/TR-104 protocols, and VigorACS compatibility for centralized administration.
