Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 Ethernet Surge Protector Gen 2
The Ubiquiti ETH-SP-G2 provides critical grounded ESD protection for outdoor Ethernet and PoE network installations. This second-generation surge protector diverts damaging electrostatic discharge attacks and voltage surges safely into the ground, preventing equipment damage and network downtime.
Ethernet to Ethernet Grounded ESD Protection
The ETH-SP-G2 creates an essential barrier between your network infrastructure and environmental electrical threats. Damaging electrostatic discharge attacks and surges are diverted to the ETH-SP and safely discharged into the ground, so network devices are protected. This grounded protection system ensures continuous network operation even in harsh outdoor conditions where lightning strikes and electrical interference are common.
Additional ESD Protection Layer
All Ubiquiti airMAX devices are equipped with built-in ESD protection, so the ETH-SP adds another layer of protection to your outdoor, high-speed network. This dual-layer approach significantly increases the survivability of outdoor wireless equipment, access points, and PoE-powered devices exposed to the elements. The Gen 2 model offers enhanced protection capabilities over the original design.
Plug and Play Installation
Connect the ground and Ethernet cables in between your network devices. The ETH-SP-G2 requires no configuration or power source, making it simple to integrate into existing network deployments. Installation takes minutes: connect your upstream Ethernet cable to one port, your downstream device to the other port, and attach the grounding wire to a proper earth ground.

Ideal Applications
The ETH-SP-G2 is designed for outdoor network installations where equipment is vulnerable to electrical surges. Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs), enterprise outdoor WiFi networks, surveillance camera systems, and building-to-building network links all benefit from this protection. Compatible with Gigabit Ethernet speeds, the surge protector maintains full network performance while providing critical protection.
Ubiquiti Network Protection
As part of the Ubiquiti ecosystem, the ETH-SP-G2 integrates seamlessly with airMAX, UniFi, and other Ubiquiti product lines. This surge protector is particularly valuable in installations using outdoor radios, access points, and cameras where direct lightning strikes or nearby electrical events can destroy unprotected equipment. The grounded design ensures proper discharge of electrical threats.
