The Ubiquiti UCG-MAX delivers professional-grade network management in a compact desktop form factor. This 2.5 gigabit cloud gateway router provides advanced security, routing, and optional NVR functionality for small to medium business networks and advanced home deployments.

High-Performance 2.5GbE Connectivity

Equipped with five 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports (one WAN, four LAN), the UCG-MAX handles multi-gigabit internet connections without bottlenecks. The 2.3 Gbps IDS/IPS throughput ensures your network maintains high speeds even with advanced security features enabled, making it suitable for fiber internet connections up to 1.5 Gbps with intrusion prevention active.

Unified Network Management

Manage up to 30+ UniFi devices and support 300+ simultaneous client connections through the UniFi Network application. The UCG-MAX serves as the central controller for your entire UniFi ecosystem, including Network, Protect, Access, Talk, and Connect applications. The integrated 0.96" LCM display provides at-a-glance system status without requiring network access.

Enterprise Security Features

Deploy comprehensive network protection with stateful firewall, application-aware Layer 7 filtering, and deep packet inspection (DPI). The gateway includes content filtering, ad blocking, and zone-based firewall with advanced filtering by regions, domains, and applications. Access over 55,000 IDS/IPS signatures with UniFi CyberSecure subscription for threat detection and prevention.

Flexible VPN and SD-WAN

Configure license-free SD-WAN with multi-WAN load balancing and automatic failover. VPN server options include Identity Endpoint one-click VPN, Teleport zero-configuration VPN, WireGuard, OpenVPN, and L2TP. VPN client support enables secure connections to remote networks via OpenVPN and WireGuard protocols. Site-to-site connectivity is simplified through Site Magic, IPsec, and OpenVPN.

Optional UniFi Protect NVR

Add optional SSD storage to transform the UCG-MAX into a network video recorder for UniFi Protect cameras. Support up to 15 HD cameras, 8 2K cameras, or 5 4K cameras depending on recording settings and storage capacity. This eliminates the need for a separate NVR device in smaller installations.

Advanced Routing and Quality of Service

Implement policy-based WAN and VPN routing, dynamic OSPF routing, and advanced QoS traffic prioritization. The gateway supports advanced NAT configurations including SNAT, DNAT, masquerade, NAT pooling, and 1-to-1 NAT. IPv6 ISP support, IGMP proxy, and multicast DNS (mDNS) ensure compatibility with modern network requirements.

The compact 141.8 x 127.6 x 30 mm enclosure houses 3GB system memory and a 2000-entry MAC address table. Powered via USB Type-C (5V DC/5A) with included adapter supporting 100-240V AC input. The polycarbonate enclosure weighs 460g without SSD or 519g with storage installed. Management options include Ethernet and Bluetooth connectivity.
